Critique from Author Deborah Lytton (Contemp Realistic)

I care because everyone deserves the opportunity to be educated, and education changes lives.  Nothing is more important than reading, and finding that one special book you love can make you a reader forever.

Debby Lytton

The Prize: One critique of the first five pages of your double-spaced fiction YA manuscript.

The Darer:  Debby Lytton is a writer and actress who grew up in front of the camera, beginning her career at age six when she was discovered by a Hollywood agent. In Debby’s first novel Jane in Bloom, Jane’s big sister Lizzie has always been the center of attention. No one ever pays attention to boring, plain Jane. But when Jane’s twelfth birthday marks the beginning of Lizzie’s final descent into a fatal eating disorder, Jane discovers that the only thing harder than living in her big sister’s shadow, is living without her. In the wake of tragedy, Jane learns to look through her camera lens and frame life differently, embracing her broken family and understanding that every girl has her season to blossom.  Learn more about Debby.

“Debby is a fascinating jack-of-all-trades kind of author. No doubt she will use the breadth of her experience as a novelist, columnist, and  freelancer to guide you in the right direction. Plus, Debby is just an all-around classy lady. You’ll be blessed to know her.”  – Cynthea Liu

  1. Cynthea says:

It doesn’t mean you have to write contemp realistic, too. It’s just to help other people distinguish one author from another. that’s all. :)

  2. Ummm . . . when I placed the bid, it didn’t say Contemp Realistic . . . I don’t write contemp realistic. This could be a problem, yes?
