The Darer: Nancy Mercado has been working in children’s publishing for the last ten years and she is currently an executive editor at Roaring Brook Press. She is grateful to have worked on books such as Emma Jean Lazarus Fell Out of a Tree by Lauren Tarshis, My Most Excellent Year by Steve Kluger, Neil Armstrong is My Uncle by Nan Marino and many, many others. Nancy mostly gravitates towards contemporary, realistic middle grade and YA novels with a hopeful quality to them.
