I will buy it and leave it with Betty for you to sign if that is okay. Who knows, I may buy several just because I know the author and she is the mother of Betty’s granddaughter. Ha Betty taught me to enjoy books when we taught together, so I can imagine how very excited she is about your new book. I wish you the very best and hope you will be blessed with the opportunity to write many more books for all of us to enjoy. Jerry Bibb

    Dearest friend-
Wow! What a day! I am so incredibly proud of you – for all of your accomplishments and for who you are. I am lucky to have been a witness to your continual evolution – from dork (before you get mad that applies to me, too!) to overachiever to successful businesswoman to mother to writer. Most of all I admire your fighting spirit. You don’t wait for things to happen and hope for the best – you look things straight in the face and you make it happen. You are the author of your evolution.

I know you are passing all of these wonderful qualities to your beautiful daughter. She will be strong and fearless, just like her mom.

And I’m totally going to squeal when I get the book in the mail!

    Love!

    Hi Cynthea,

Congratulations on the publication of your book. It’s a teeny bit mature for my daughter (she still thinks boys are gross) but I think it will be just right for my niece. And of course I will read it before I share it with her!

I loved the movie! What a great cover of “Dreams,” too. Like Papa Liu, I cried during the movie. Imagine how bad I’ll be if my *own* children grow up and follow their dreams! :-)

I’ve “known” you since I discovered your web site (first cynthealiu and now writingforchildrenandteens) about a year ago. I was the lucky winner of the Name that Book free-GUEST-tique last November. Your web site is fun and inspiring — thanks for a great resource. You’re a marketing whiz, too — I’m taking notes from your play book.

Congrats, good luck, and great party!

    Traci

  252. Dorothy Ray says:

Thanks for inviting me to stop by so I could wish you huge success with your books. Loved how you told about the pains you had with them in your interview with Tara. Reassuring to those of us who are still striving. I hope both books sell like crazy and maybe Snoop can get his name on the cover of the next one. He’s so cute. Dare I pet him before I leave?

  253. Julia says:

Happy Day, Cynthea! What an exciting party! I’m off to play the game for a chance to win a terra cotta warrior! OMG! I got to see the traveling exhibition of them in 2000 at the Kentucky Horse Park – and they are currently in Atlanta at the High Museum (not sure if I can make it – but I’d be thrilled with a replica ya know… *wink* *wink*)

  264. Mark S (Husband) says:

I am so excited for you! You make it all look easy, but I know how hard you have worked to make this happen.

When you start writing, the day when your book comes out is your destination. That’s when you’ve made it. That’s when you’re done. That’s when all the work pays off.

But take a moment to remember that you don’t just write for that one day, or even for your readers. You write because you love the journey every day. And you love sharing your passion. Most of the reward is not today – most of the thrill you’ve already experienced.

Also, with the book actually out today, you can see more clearly that it’s only the beginning!

Still, there is an important sense in which you “arrived” today. Congratulations on this milestone!

I am looking forward to the Paris Pan video.

P.S. I hope everybody who signs this guest book buys at least 3 books and tells at least 3 people about it.

  265. Bonnie says:

Congratulations Cynthea! Great idea to celebrate your hard work with this party. I really enjoyed the movie. I wondering as I watched if you had used the written words of the movie for the cover jacket of your book. It sure would be a great introduction to your book. Good luck with the book.

  266. Congratulations from Tulsa. As an author I know how much work this has taken, and also how fun this is.

  267. Bonnie says:

Congratulations Cynthea & Snoop! What a year you’ve had. Best wishes for successful sales and many more publishing contracts! By the way Snoop, could your name have been Bashful in a former life?
