Cynthea’s workshops are designed to inform and inspire. They can be tailored for grade 4 through high school and adult audiences. All sessions (including Q&A) can last from 40 minutes or longer, depending on your needs.

Writing for Children and Teens: A Crash Course
Cynthea will take the audience through a fun and visually entertaining presentation about the fundamentals of writing for children and teens. Through this ten-step crash course, attendees will learn everything they need to know about the subject from idea spark to publication.

You do WHAT for a Living?
This presentation gives attendees an inside peek to a children’s book author’s life. Attendees will learn the nitty-gritty details of what it takes to do the job successfully, from weathering the writing process, to dealing with rejection, to scoring a sale with publishers.

Revision 9-1-1
This hands-on workshop walks attendees through revision techniques that can turn a bogged down story into something that shines. Attendees will learn about dialogue diarrhea, jackhammering, writer-at-the-wheel, and other interestingly-named faux pas commonly found in fiction prose today.

Write at the Top of Your Voice
Cynthea will help attendees develop the one thing that makes their writing stand out like no other-voice! Interactive and fun exercises will help participants gauge if their voices are cracking or if they’re singing loud and clear.
