After many years of mud pies, skinned knees, sibling rivalry, crushes, boyfriends and heartbreaks,  List got serious and penned her first novel when she was sixteen. She joined the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators in 1996 and sold her first article in 1998. She’s been a contributing author to the Children’s Writers and Illustrator’s Market (CWIM) and has written three nonfiction books for Enslow Publishing.
