Critique Policy
All critique winners must take the Solemn Critiquee Oath.
- I shall not shed a single tear upon reading my critique
- I shall remember I am asking for only one opinion. That is all.
- I shall not take any comments personally. My work is being evaluated, not me.
- I shall allow special guest authors to send the manuscript to Cynthea’s rabbit Snoop to consume my work if he so wishes.
Guidelines for submitting a work for critique
- All pages should be typed.
- Synopses should be single-spaced, two pages max.
- Query letters should be written in the format of a business letter.
- Manuscript formatting should follow standard guidelines. See this article on how to format your manuscript.
- In general, you should email your submission in the form of a Word doc or RTF file, unless requested to do so otherwise.
- Please allow the author/agent/editor time to review your submission. Feel free to ask CYNTHEA if it takes longer than 4-5 weeks and you have not already been informed that it may take longer. Thank you!
